Any preference here? I’m thinking speed bleeders, but don’t really have a reason why.

Speed bleeders are awesome!

Depends on use. For occasional use on road cars, speed bleeders are great (I use them on my bikes). However, they let air in after several uses, ran into this issue on my track car. So after a season of running the speed bleeders I switched back to standard ones and bought a power bleeder.

I use a Mityvac. It’s quick and easy to use, just make sure you don’t get over zealous and suck all of the fluid out, filling the lines and master cylinder with air. Trust me.

I have never bled brakes and this will hopefully just be one time and not having to do it for a while.

That would give me a great excuse to go to harbor freight!

I busted a reservoir right open with the Motive powerbleeder at just 12-13 psi (usually anything under 15psi is safe, but I’m going with 10psi from now on). It was a modern plastic reservoir and was about 12-13 years old, so probably getting brittle anyway. But it made me miss the old metal reservoirs...
I’m still using it, but a hand-powered Mityvac sounds very tempting in the long run.

The brake fluid reservoir or the one attached to the power bleeder? I'm really liking the mityvac idea

I have one of those Mityvac hand pumps. Guess how my hands feel after use...

So much this. These are amazing and I don't know why people still use any other methods.

Just get a second person to operate the brake pedal...

Speed bleeders changed my life for the better

Power. Least amount of effort and fastest, least likely to introduce air. They will keep the fluid at the top of the reservoir so you don’t need to monitor it.
Mityvac is slow and tiresome since you have to keep on pumping it. Plus you have to monitor the fluid level.
Never used speed bleeders before. But I would avoid just because I feel like being stubborn. And the check valves will wear out or corrode eventually, rendering them useless. Plus you have to pump the brakes. I would rather just hook up power and crack the bleeders and be done with it.

Will second the Motive power bleeder. I’ve used one to do the brakes on my Subaru and they are very easy to use and turn bleeding brakes into a one person job.
